Update: Rusty's cherry eye surgery was very successful and as you can see it has healed perfectly. This super sweet, affectionate, energetic, happy, fun loving boy is now ready for some very lucky family to adopt him!
Rusty had an allergic reaction to his post surgery eye medication which caused swelling, stretching his stitches resulting in his cherry eye coming back out. He is going in on June 10th to have his surgery re-done and will be available for his new home once he is healed up from his surgery.
Update: Rusty has had his cherry eye and neuter surgery and is recovering well although he doesn't much care for being a cone-head! We are still trying to raise funds to pay off his medical bills which our vet is kindly letting us make payments on. Rusty is a very sensitive little cocker just wanting to be loved and definitely needs a gentle owner. We feel he would do best in a family where someone is home alot or where he would have another doggy companion for company.
Rusty has arrived! He will be undergoing surgery to fix his cherry eye (A common, easily fixed prolapsed gland) and will be neutered on May 10th. We are currently looking for sponsors for Rusty to help us with his surgery costs. He will be available for adoption once he has recovered, which usually takes about 2 weeks. He is a real sweetheart, super adorable and very gentle. He is shy when he first meets new people but warms up quickly once he gets to know you and then loves affection. He is good with other dogs and humans. We were told he has been around children and is great with them but we have yet to test him ourselves. He is approximately 2 years old, a gorgeous chocolate and white parti, on the smaller side. He loves to play ball. We will have more information about Rusty once we get to know him better.
